A year!

On Saturday, we celebrated being here a year; where that time has gone, I’ll never know!

And so, looking back…

This is the scene, above, that met my eyes on August 26th, 2022:

It was a tidy, lovely, well stocked garden but with little colour.

I could see that it had possibilities!

One of the first things that we did was to add tables, chairs, bird baths, containers etc

And then we emptied the three large stone containers and re- planted those with herbs:

After that, the autumn was spent planting bulbs but not doing too much to the borders as you should always wait a year to see what the garden throws up.

Spring 2023 arrived…and this was one surprise:

And then May and June rolled up…

I’d been really worried about our tree fern surviving the winter…but I need not have worried at all!

That stark, grey wall, by the greenhouse, was made more interesting by my lovely daughter…

And then July burst in, in all its glory…

August brought more colour…

And this is where we are now!

And I’m sitting and wondering what the next year will bring!

  2. You will be spending time looking for spaces to fill with more lovely plants, I'm sure. Your daughter's wall painting is delightful.
