Buckfast Abbey

This morning, I was lucky enough to go on a trip to Buckfast Abbey!
I haven’t visited for quite some time and as soon as you set foot in the gardens, you feel so relaxed and very much at peace with the world!

First stop, as is usual with these places, was The Grange Cafe. This set us up very well for the rest of the visit!

And here is someone who loves a cafe trip!

Naturally, it was a really informative trip as we had our tour guide with us! He knows everything there is to know about everything!

The Lavender gardens are beautiful!

And here he is explaining to his daddy, the benefits of Yew hedging!

The Buckfast Abbey Millennium Garden won a silver medal at the 2017 RHS Malvern Show. You can read about it here

He was particularly taken with the Alchemilla Mollis!

This really was a lovely trip and well worth a visit if you don’t live too far away!

  2. It is many years since we visited there, Sal, so perhaps we will go again. AT the time of our last visit, the lavender garden was being constructed, and it will be lovely to see how it has matured. Margaret x
