A day to remember … in more ways than one!

Nobody does it better! I truly believe that! And Coronations don’t come around too often, do they?! In 1953, I was 4 months old and so I wasn’t aware of any such thing! Now, here we are in 2023, celebrating a new King, a new reign, a new era…I wonder what that will bring?

Up early, (with a front row seat! ) I was eager to savour the flavour of the day! And I wasn’t disappointed!

The proceedings went to perfection ( as far as I could see!) and the main players performed their roles as best they could, in spite of those very heavy, cumbersome crowns!

And there was Anne, Princess Royal; how this lovely lady impresses me more and more! She gets on with the job in hand with a no fuss approach, no bother, no ‘look at me, me, me!’ and every much the superb supporting role for her brother, King Charles.

Children usually steal the show because they are so natural. Princess Charlotte, only 8, kept an obvious eye on her younger brother, Prince Louis, 5.

And Catherine, Princess of Wales, always looks stunning!

Meanwhile, Prince George,9, had a very important role to play, acting as a Page of Honour to the king.

And here, William, Prince of Wales, is pledging his loyalty to his father…a very fine and touching moment.

As President of the Lord Privy Council, Penny Moredaunt played her part to perfection! She was magnificent and so graceful. People like this really do the country proud.

However, I have to say that the one person who stood out yesterday, was Lady Louise! She’s grown into a fine young lady and has much poise and elegance! Her parents are obviously very proud of her.

                                                                           Beautiful!

A fine family, who all get on quietly with their role, supporting the Monarchy and the country.

However, yesterday was very special in more ways than one…and for us, it was EXTRA special!

We have our own William. He is our grandson…and it was his birthday! Two years old!

We were invited to a birthday, afternoon tea, which was a lovely surprise!

Such a lovely day! It’s not often that you get a Coronation and a birthday on the same day! No doubt our little William will see further Coronations when he is older! Time will tell!

Meanwhile, a big Happy Birthday to William!
