The garden is lovely. The sun has come out!
The flowers look happy...of that, I’ve no doubt!
The greenhouse shouts, ‘Enter!’ Its owner says, ‘ Yes!’
The seeds whisper, ‘ Sow us! We want to impress!’
The garden accessories... queue up and wait.
Meanwhile, their owner sets the place straight...
Ready to sow and ready to pot.
Ready to get stuck into the lot!
The stage is well set, for the season is spring.
And the gardener rejoices in all it will bring.
The herb bed is waking from its snug winter sleep.
And above it, the birds flutter and cheep
Whilst here and there, the plants find the room
To show off their newness...’ Look at us bloom!’
A crow oversees this exciting event.
As the gardener looks around, very content.
Yes, the garden wakes up...you can feel its pleasure.
Yet, the gardener has no time for too much leisure.
It’s full steam ahead! It’s that time of year!
Plenty to celebrate..so much to cheer!
