My thoughts today!

What is it with many young girls of today?
Why do they always want the bad guys? Excitement maybe?
Old fashioned manners, being courteous, courting a girl properly, treating her well, helping her, showing respect at all times....
I have a son that does all that and where does it get him?
Sometimes life really does hurt, doesn't it?....and especially when you are a mum and you feel so helpless.
You can't interfere...you can't say what you'd really like to say!
Big hugs Nich ;-)

Bless, if they don't appreciate your boy Sal, they aren't worth having. I remeber liking so called exciting boys when I was younger, then coming to my senses when I was around 18 and realising exciting usually meant pathetic. Anyhoo a year on I met a lovely boy and 7 years later I married him, so there you go :)

Hey - tell Nich - we have to kiss alot of frogs before we find our Prince - and we do - and when we do we love him forever.

We only like the bad guys for a while, then we come to our senses and fall in love with the good guys. They're the ones we marry and love forever.

Tell him to look for the quiet girls there are lots out there, shy, lonely and quietly waiting for the good guy they know is looking for them.

My son is exactly the same as your Nich and I know as a Mum you want the best for them, but like you it breaks my heart to see him sad. My other son rushed things and is regreting his rush with all his heart.

Unfortunately.. one cannot look for love.. love finds us..
I hope your wonderful boy can put this behind him and know in his heart... she wasn't the right one...
and maybe she will realise that she made a big mistake!!!
I hope my son is as caring and courteous as yours when his time comes..

Love to Nich.

If the girl wants a bad guy then she is not the girl for your son. That's what you have to tell yourself - but you want to take the hurts for them don't you. It doesn't get any easier as they get older either.
Love the Clovelly header - haven't been there for almost fifty years.

Umm it is really hard for us mums in this situation. He will find a lovely girl who will appreciate all his wonderful qualities one day. You must have done a wonderful job in bringing him up to be so thoughtful. I know that I would prefer my kids (2 boys and one girl) to be with a person who respects them and treats them well.

I do hope Nich can put this behind him and know in his heart that she was not the right one..
He is such a wonderful boy and deserves someone caring and courteous..and compatible.

I dread the day my son starts dating.. it is so hard as you say.. to see your child hurt and not be able to prevent it from happening..

I made a lot of mistakes and was a poor judge of character.. until my Knight came along..

more fool them for not realising how lucky they could be to find a good boy. Am sure the right one will come along at some point, but sometimes the wait isn't pleasant for anyone. Hugs to you and Nic xx

Awww, Your son is cute, good looking, clever and got a great mum....I'm sure he'll soon find someone right for him and realise he wasted time/tears with Miss Wrong.

Look at it this way - he has to hit a few thorns before he finds a sweet rose.

I wasted too much time with one of the so called bad guys and thankfully have ended up with one of the good ones,I think he too was begining to think that girls only want the bad ones. Someone soon will be lucky to find your son.

Isn't their pain so much harder to bear than your own pain - strange things relationships - I have an almost 17yo daughter as you know who plays rugby, works hard, keeps in trim, makes the world a brighter place with her bouncy joyous character and just doesn't seem to find a nice guy - she likes all the sporty guys, they want the simpering sickly sweet girls - I just think they don't know what they're missing but also I don't think she knows what she's missing in the less sporty guys. Hope Nich's heart is only temporarily broken - there's someone out there for everyone, but as my friend once told me 'In this life you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince' and I guess that applies to princesses too.

In the end the girls who go with the bad guys will end up being hurt too. It's the good guys that win out in the end. Tell him to keep searching - come to Australia! Lot's of nice girls here!
