A slight exaggeration sometimes does help!! ;-)

We were going to do some more crazy patchwork today, until my mum remarked yesterday, 'Is there anything you need help with, for the fair?'
'Yes! I have about 5 million pin cushions to sew !!'

( Well 14 actually ;-)

So that's what we did!

  7. I bet you don't want to sew another pin cushion for quite a while! They are lovely, I would have a difficult time in choosing one.

  8. Sal you are so industrious, well done to you both for being such busy bees. Lots of luck for the sale, wish I could come but would be a fair commute from sunny West Yorkshire :) All your makes are gorgeous.

  9. It's best books in south street, paper backs are £2.99 but I think they have 20% off at the moment to clear stock. Not many craft books but the owner is really friendly & was looking out for knitting & crocheting books for me. They have another shop in Exmouth which will remain open, I guess it's only a train journey away.
    Lovely pin cushions BTW :)

  10. they are lovely Sal...too nice to use..have you tried pumkin pin cushions....a circle of heavy felt fabric with a lighter on top then made into a phumpkin by sewing into the midle and puttin a button on either side to finish...they are really popular at craft fairs up here..loved the Cath stuff..they dont have the tins up north yet..they look fab..

  12. Thank you for popping to see me - Yes the news about my precious Dad is better we had hoped. Isn't a Cath Kidston store a girly place to be and I have never been in one yet!!

  13. It was only a matter of time before the cat was let out of the bag
(neatly created from off-cuts of CK fabric of course - the bag not the cat - else that would be Bagpuss, wouldn't it?)
It is I that makes all these lovely things whilst my wife drudges away teaching, cooking, washing, ironing,no not ironing - how silly, fencing, gardening mowing, hedge laying, servicing the car etc.
My hands are a blur as I snip here, stitch there, press this and trim that.
God! how I loathe the Neanderthal occupation of modern man, boozing, belching, watching the footy and rugger.
No it's needle craft for me every time.
Now I think I'll make a ruched bag for my medication

  15. Hi Sal,
These are 'sew' pretty! Love the little flower details.
(I've also been making pincushions for the fair! - But they are quite a bit different to yours. Hopefully customers will buy one from each of us...or more of course!! ;-))
