Maybe I bought nothing!!! ;-)

I don't know which is worse...going all the way to Bristol to watch Southampton FC lose...or trying to decide what to buy in CK!!! ;-)
What I do know, is that the first choice leaves you as glum as glum can be!
Whereas...!! ;-)
We did have such a lovely afternoon ! Well two of us did!
CK, Park Street, Bristol.

We walked from Clifton to Park Street, at a good pace... girls on a mission!

We entered, for a ten minute reccie.
Then we went away to have a cuppa and to deliberate.

We retraced our steps... and stayed in...for about an hour!!
Are there any other shops in Park street?... cos I'm damned if I know!!;-)
Time flies when you're having fun!

And the very nice salesgirl said it was fine to take a photo.

A photo!! ;-)
But give someone an inch and they take a mile!!
(To make up for York, where remember they said 'No'?!)

I'm sure that you've seen it all before!

But it's so pleasing on the eye, isn't it?

My brief from Mr Snippets was ..'You can buy something for your Christmas Present, something for your birthday and a treat for today!!'
Wow!
I nearly asked if I could have something for Easter (instead of an egg!) and something for Christmas 2009 but that would have been taking the proverbial 'you know what'!!
LOL!
I wonder...what did I buy?
Or maybe I bought nothing?
I mean...this might not be my shopping on the seat ...but then again..!
Well, of course I know what I bought..but I'm keeping you in ...

SUSPENSE!!
***
We waited by the Hippodrome for our 'glum' chauffeur to arrive.
After a welcome cuppa, back at my nephew's pad (he of Weston Pier fame!! Hi Andrew!) we hit the road again.
A huge thanks to Jen and Brian for the 'grand day out' ! ;-)
And to my other half, for his generosity...and for not minding me going off without him, on St Valentine's Day.
***
I hope everyone had a lovely day, like I did ;-)

  1. Blimey you're up early!!! Sorry to hear that Southampton lost :( but looks like you made up for it at CK!! I do like the Bristol shop, I've been twice now but they don't seem to stock everything. Both times I couldn't get want I wanted... did I leave with nothing?? Heck no!! I hear that orange tree will be increasing the range soon, hardly anything in at the moment. Maybe I'll go to Bristol in my hols, the Guild shop is just across the road from Cath & stocks Emma B. BTW I'm hoping to come to the fair so I'll see you there!! :) x

  2. I think you have sneaked one of the new messenger bags in...I did...it took me an hour to decide which one and then when I got home I felt guilty spending all that money when I already have 3 other blue Cath K bags!...so I am going to take it back and get something for the house instead...I just can resist those cheery patterns....

  4. I'm nervous for today - Everton in the FA Cup. I don't have Setanta, so can't watch it live, so will be glued to the radio.

I reckon CK owes you a big fat freebie for promoting her place with such style!

  5. You can never see it too many times, Sal. Def will have to make a pilgrimage with the Munchkin next week during half term - I NEED my catalogue if nothing else. I like that bag with the old fashioned moulded handles, you know, a bit like you'd expect the queen to have, very ladylike! Sorry about the footy.

  8. I could kiss you Sal, that's the closest I've ever got to a CK shop!!!!! And the closest I'm likely to for a good few years lol. Isn't Mr Snippets a sweetie, I'm dying to see what you bought.

  9. is CK the new Laura Ashley? I confess to being a non-crafter, a non-sewer, a non-knitter. In fact I'm very under-qualified, so much so that a friend and I once started the Under Achievers Club, membership two only, everyone else who applied was far too qualified ... they could swim, ride a bike, ride a horse, knit, sew, crochet, do their 9 times table ... However, I do admire folks who can do all these things (but lord knows what all the things are used for, and if we managed without them, do we actually need them? Is it just the love of the materials and the making that is important to crafters? I can't see myself using lavender bags, things to put hankies in ...)
But I do think you make pretty things!

  10. Oh dear - I see you have caught the bug - being a quilter I have had it for some years - can't pass a Kath Kidson - or any other fabric shop for that matter - doesn't matter if you don't know what you are going to do with the material - it is nice just to look at in odd moments over a coffee.Hope the Shakespeare comments helped.

  11. What lovely photos! Living in France now, I do miss my trips to British favourites. The websites are not the same. So, thanks so much for giving me a vicarious thrill!

  12. CK is not the new LA, it is the new CK
LA is a horse of a different colour
Both appreciated in their own right
The purpose of this blog surely is for like minded people to share a common interest and build on relationships within the community
If you do not craft then probably you will miss the point
The enjoyment does not begin and end with the final product, although that in itself can be a delight.
It must surely be about finding time for yourself in this busy world. Further it is about sharing and support as well as an exchange of ideas.
Everyone has a talent, both the designers of the fabrics as well as the crafters who take inspiration and develop their creativity
I have noticed that almost without fail, bloggers are positive and supportive and the friendliest of creatures. However there is always one in every walk of life that tends to be negative or fails to see the point
Would you tell an infant who has daubed in crayon squiggles that represent you and daddy that " Is this the new Rembrandt?" or "I fail to see your point"
    Shame if you do

  13. So glad you had a great day Sal. I do hope the glum chaffeur perked up! Lovely photos of the shop, it does all look very pretty. I like the way you have kept us all in 'suspense' and clever use of the photo! Do put us out of our misery soon. x

  14. Sorry Sal, Our household was very pleased with the footie result. My brother lives in Bristol and is a huge City fan and by proxy so are my boys so although Southampton is nearer to us, we all have to support Bristol City!!! I can also confirm that Park Street does have some lovely shops, although I haven't been shopping there for quite some time!
Glad you had a fab weekend,
    Alice x

Football should go back to the olden days, Clubs with no money dont stand a chance!

I havent been to an actual CK shop so that was a delight for me.

  21. Hello Sal

I did think of you whilst I was hurtling towards Devon.. we probably passed within a few miles of each other..
You certainly look like you found your Nirvana in Park Street.. I can just imagine your head spinning around in CK.
A perfect consolation prize methinks for the disappointing score!
So glad you had a lovely day..

  22. Hi Sal,
Haha...I was in Park Street on Sunday, after visiting the vintage fashion fair at Bristol Uni...I'm not such as big a CK fan as you, but I do think that this shop is one of her best (better than Bath, anyway)
Glad you had a fun shopping trip,
    Niki
