I have just dicovered your blog and I must say it's great . I love embroidery but I don't embroider very much, these are lovely. Now that I've discovered your blog I will surely be back. Sue.
I wonder how many hours were spent creating those embroideries. I also wonder where they were done, who did them, what was going on in their life at the time. What were they thinking about as they stitched. I really am too nosy for my own good!!!
Gorgeous, I love embroidery and I've got a few pretty vintage bits and bobs. As Simone said I always wonder about the person that made them, they are priceless Twiggy x
They are all very pretty and so clean and unmarked. Like simone I wonder about the people who did the embroidery and what happened to them. I have several embroidered table cloths, napkins and dressing table sets that came from Mum and Dad's house when we finally cleared it - one or two of them have tea stains on them so they were well used. I know that my aunt was responsible for them, so although I never use them I can't bear to part with them:)
Oooh, you know I'm drooling!! I just absolutely love hand embroidered items--and you are so right, the colors are wonderful!
