More Christmas books…(some repeated! 😁) 📚📕📗📕📗📕📗📚

At the moment, I’m really enjoying Laurie Lee’s ‘Village Christmas and Other Notes of the English Year’. He really was a superb writer and it’s wonderful to escape to days gone by! It’s a charming book and I highly recommend it.

When I’ve finished that, I’ve plenty of choice for this festive season. Above, is a wonderful collection…a mixed bag…written by some famous writers and some not so famous writers. Lovely to simply ‘dip into’!

‘Christmas Days’ contains a selection of short stories as well as associated recipes with a jolly seasonal theme. Although I’ve read a few magazine articles by this writer, I’ve yet to delve into this one; I’m looking forward to it, immensely.

‘Advent’ is one of those ‘coffee table books’! It contains recipes and  craft ideas. A very lovely book for inspiration.

Next up is ‘ A Literary Christmas’ crammed full of stories and poems from the very best writers.

And then there is Dickens…

The delightful and charming cover illustrations by Emily Sutton, drew me to this a few years ago!  I love her style. This is a substantial book, by ‘Vintage Classics’ with plenty to offer… as is the book below…

Another ‘Vintage Classics’ and I’d describe it as a companion book to the Dickens book. As you can see, Emily Sutton has also illustrated the cover of this delightful book.

As mentioned previously, Nich and I have similar taste! To own a ‘Folio’ book is a real treat and this one is lovely. Stories and poems and some superb illustrations! A must, if you can find it!

And also mentioned before, ‘Christmas at the New Yorker’ offers a different selection of writing in true ‘New Yorker style’. I always laugh at the cover of this one!

I do have a few Christmas cook books but this book is one of the best…it’s a superb book that I bought some time ago. I’m really enjoying Jamie Oliver’s Christmas programmes at the moment; I never tire of them! 

And finally, poking its nose in once more…how I love this!
