I had company last Thursday as I was ‘faffing around’ by the greenhouse! And very friendly company it was too. Sometimes, the simplest of pleasures delight, don’t they?!
I’ve been trying to have a good, autumn tidy up and get myself organised for next year. Many Foxgloves have been planted along with some Primula and Primroses.
About a month ago I chopped back this Campanula ..and it’s decided to reward me!
I’ve also been keeping an eye on this little spot in the garden as I planted some Lily of the Valley here, a while ago. I have a trusty friend overseeing things…
An old and rather mossy Devon pixie, which we discovered when we moved here!
The Skimmia is full of berries and rather lovely.
And there’s still some colour in the garden.
On Sunday, we went out for lunch with William and family. William loves his food and thoroughly enjoyed his lunch…and pudding! Nich said how proud they were of William as he’s settled into school without any fuss whatsoever and he has made plenty of friends.
I noticed this on a nearby wall…very wise too!
Today, we went to our favourite nursery, Longcombe as I wanted to find a garden gift for my sister’s birthday. Rather than buy flowers that don’t last for very long, I thought I’d give her a shrub for her garden. Knowing that she really likes Hydrangeas, I spotted one that I thought she’d enjoy. However, I also spotted some pretty Hebes. I was in two minds but in the end I decided on the Hydrangea.
Everything there was so pretty, as it always is! We didn’t have the best of weather in September but we are having it now, in October! It was really warm today!
Always a pleasure!
