There’s no peace for the wicked when you’re a gardener!

There’s nothing like a healthy looking greenhouse! Mine has all sorts going on; everything is thriving and living happily together, side by side! No slugs or snails seem to be invading at the moment and all is good!

Right now, the inhabitants are Erigeron karvinskianus cuttings and  Erysimum cuttings:

Wild mixtures:

Foxgloves:

Because they’ve grown so well, I’ve been repotting them and putting them just outside the greenhouse:

I’ve also moved the Honesty outside too:

I’ve a ton of things to do but I’ve managed to prick out another load of Foxgloves.

Meanwhile, thoughts have turned to bulbs! It’s that time of year to get planning for the spring. Nich and I have been chatting about this; we’ve  each decided what we would like and we’ve shared postage costs as well as sharing some packs. It’s all quite exciting!

My first choice was a Narcissi mix for my front garden, which I noticed, in the spring, had a few gaps. After last year’s bulbs had finished flowering, we put in markers where they all were, so that we know where to plant more bulbs this autumn.

This time around, I’ve also decided to plant a few miniature bulbs in smaller pots. Inspired by Monty on GW, who always has a wonderful display of spring bulbs on a large, old table, we thought we’d do something similar. However, neither Nich or myself have an old table…LOL…so we will improvise! I’ve earmarked an old bench for mine.

I think that most people have heard of  ‘Tete a Tete’, (above), a delightful, miniature narcissi, guaranteed to bring a smile to one’s face! So I added these (above)  to my order as well as these, below:

‘Jetfire’, another miniature narcissi, but this one has distinctive orange trumpets.

I then found some interesting  ‘mixtures’ . Above is Crocus ‘Ruby Giant’; Muscari; Brodiaea ‘Queen Fabiola’ and mixed Dutch Iris.

Below is; Puschkinia libotanica; Crocus ‘Barr’s Purple’; Ixiolirion Mix; Allium Moly ( a miniature Allium).

Above is a dwarf Narcissi mixture…and below is a Narcissi ‘ Minnow’.

And then we have…

…Crocus, ‘Yellow Mammoth’.

And finally, I chose a miniature Tulip, ‘Red Riding Hood’. I don’t plant many tulips as I’ve found that they are never the same in subsequent years and also you have to ensure that you plant them in late autumn as otherwise they risk rotting; we usually get a lot of rain in the autumn!

And so those are my autumn, gardening plans but right now I’m really enjoying these gorgeous, dwarf Sunflowers, as they’re jolly splendid and make me smile! 😁 🌼🌼🌼:

And the garden is still looking very pretty…

… especially with the Pansies that I also sowed very late!
