Yesterday, we paid a visit to Bickington, a small village in South Devon, situated between Newton Abbot and Ashburton. We used to live there many years ago and during that time we got to know a man called Michael, who had a very small nursery there. In fact, I used to go and help him…mainly pricking out and potting plants. I loved the outside life! When we moved from the village, we lost touch. But Michael stayed there and he’s since worked wonders with his plot of land etc. And…he now has…
He has something that I’ve always wanted…a roadside stall…and more! The plants are amazing! They are lovely and healthy looking and well presented too.
He also has a tiny farm shop that sells all kinds of produce, including jams and preserves, eggs and a community fridge….and that’s not all!
And, yes, of course I bought something! He had some Sedum! Full of bees! We managed to shake off the bees. I was so pleased to find the Sedum, having seen it covered in bees at Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens! But we also bought something that we have often fancied putting in the garden! I couldn’t believe my luck when I saw this particular item standing there! And Michael said, ‘ I sell those as well!’
I bet you’ll never guess what it is! 🤣😂🤣😄
All will be revealed in my next blog post! 😁
