Hare Spring Cottage Plants ….and more…

Hare Spring Cottage Plants is a little piece of heaven on earth! And it is thanks to the people who own this delightful place. You couldn’t meet a nicer couple, and they are Stella and Malcolm, who are the winners of a number of RHS Gold Medals. They relocated to South Devon in 2022 and we are lucky enough to live near enough to be able to visit when they have their open days.

When we visited in April it was the Camassias that caught my eye but on Sunday it was certainly the  Foxgloves!

Tea, coffee and cake was on offer too and so after partaking in that, we strolled around, lapping up the atmosphere.

I loved this Gingko, below…

There is another open weekend in August and you can find the info here

On the way home, we called in at Longcombe Nursery, for a cuppa and browse. I’m always amazed at the turnover of plants here and the ever changing displays in the polytunnel. Someone has an eye for colour and putting plants together for the best impact, that’s for sure…this selection of roses caught my eye…

I couldn’t leave this behind…! 😱

Meanwhile, everything in the garden is looking pretty good …

And in a hidden corner, this beautiful Campanula is quietly getting on with life…

Everything's coming up roses now - it's lovely, and the jasmine is really sending out its perfume.

  5. Those foxgloves are such an unusual colour, so pretty. I shall look out for them in nurseries around here or I might try to grow them from seed. Foxgloves seem to love our garden. Glad you enjoyed your latest visit to Hare Spring Cottage and I'm already looking forward to what takes your eye in August.
