GROW!

I sought approval from Mr Snippets re the ‘positioning’ of the pretty, pink Primula, before planting them in some larger pots! Later in the summer, I’ll probably plant them elsewhere in the garden. But for now, they add interest to this newly created area. I suggested that it needed, ‘A woman’s touch! 🤣😱😂

( However, contrary to rumours and much mischief making from an armchair near me, I most certainly have not framed the pond with curtains! )

The star of any pond area, right now, has to be the gorgeous Marsh Marigold.  I have another one in a mini pond and I think they are absolutely beautiful.

Yellows and purples always shout out, ‘It’s springtime!’ And if you recall, I recently mentioned  the seeds that we threw down on a gravel patch at the front of our garden. First came the Primroses and now these have quietly appeared:

Simple pleasures!

In contrast, I was looking around the garden at things to come; as in plants that haven’t yet bloomed.

For instance, Geum. They are thriving and will soon be in bloom. Always Mr/Mrs Reliable! I can’t remember if these are ‘Mai Tai’ or ‘Alabama Slammer’…two of my favourite varieties. We shall see!

And then there is this….one of my most favourite garden perennials:

It seems to have burst into life this week, whereas last week there was not a leaf to be seen! It’s…Geranium Rozanne!  How I adore this particular plant! Yes, there are other lovely blue Geraniums but this, for me, is the best!

The roses in our garden are looking ridiculously healthy…and so they should as they had one heck of a pruning in February! Later in the summer, they won’t look so good, leafwise, that is! The dreaded blackspot always gets to them. But the blooms are always stunning…my very favourite being ‘Peace’.

Talking of peace, I have two Clematis planted here in this peaceful spot. They too have grown a lot in one week in spite of the lack of rain.

And finally, for now, there is…Borage! It’s a must for the bees and it germinates so quickly. Along with Comfrey, it is one of my top choices for the garden. It’s only an annual plant but it’s well worth sowing from seed.

It’s certainly an exciting time in the garden and all that I ask is for everything to….
