Moving into a new home can be very stressful, especially when circumstances
beyond one’s control, dictate! But we got there in the end and I’m jolly glad we did!
It took 5 months from viewing to completion but it was worth the wait.
Above is part of the new garden in March, when it was only just waking up from its
winter sleep and when my other half viewed it. I’d been unwell and so was putting
complete trust in him to view and report back!
And here is part of it now, 5 months later. In pride of place is a stunning
tree fern! A grand specimen! And we’ve never owned such a plant!
Excitement reigned when we realised that the garden contained this!
We moved in just in time to catch the blooms of the stunning and very vivid
blue Hydrangeas; an absolutely beautiful sight! We sat here yesterday, briefly, and
I can report that the bird song was beautiful. Close to the woods, we were knew that
this would be the case. Bird feeders went up even before we’d unpacked many
of our belongings! Much money was spent on bird food! Lucky birds!
Priorities, you know! 🐦
Through this archway, below, can be found my very own greenhouse area…
and I’m quite excited as it’s a quiet and peaceful area where I’ll be able to pot
to my heart’s content.
Here, below, is where I’m looking forward to mostly being in the garden!
I have plans for a garden mural to brighten up the wall! Big, bold Sunflowers
contrasting with striking red Poppies…or something like that! Watch this space…
or I should say, watch this wall!
At the weekend, we re-filled the two large stone troughs that we’ve inherited.
I always buy my herbs from Norfolk Herbs; this company has never let me down and
true to form, the herbs arrived promptly and very healthy they are too!

Meanwhile, I’ve been pleased to see how certain residents have settled into
their new abode…I couldn’t leave this one behind…oh no!
And a few precious things from my old potting place also made the journey…
including these two rascals…
And this…well part of it, anyway! It’s one of my favourite ever photos from
the past.
Some things just had to be left behind …but I have the memories and the photos..
and I hope that the new owners love vintage tat as much as I do!🤣🎂🤣
We love our new home but especially the garden; it has
been well designed and the planting is superb.
Even better is that my vintage garden pots and other
similar items ( known affectionately as ‘your vintage tat’)
fit in very nicely with the style of the garden!
They say that you should leave a garden well alone for a year
after moving in, and apart from some light pruning and maybe a little
‘Chelsea chopping’ this is what we will do! It’s going to be mighty
interesting to see what springs up as the seasons progress.
