A stroll around Cockington ;-)

On Sunday, we ventured to Cockington, for lunch and a wander.

Cockington is a pretty and idyllic village with many delightful,

picture postcard, thatched properties.

Cockington is steeped in history and even has a mention in the Domesday book.

I doubt that the village has altered much since that time!

This stunning Clematis, which caught my eye, has made itself very much at home

at the Weavers Cottage Tea Shoppe.

The Drum Inn, designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, was our stopping place for Sunday lunch.

And then we wandered some more.

There is plenty to do when you visit Cockington and if you are feeling a little weary

then you know what to do...

The rose garden was lovely, as always.

And there's something about a walled garden, isn't there?!

There are a variety of craft units at Cockington and although, this time, I didn't

venture inside many of these, I did come across this lovely unit

in the Stableyard, with lovely art work by  Diana Tregaskes.

It's amazing what you can find at Cockington!

Very pleasurable indeed!

  1. Ooooo I love that photo through the gate in the wall - I too would like to own a walled garden!

We like Cockington a lot, it's a world away from the busy bay but ever so close-by, and always worth a wander!
