Our history, whether you like it or not!

'It just shows how desperate and inadequate these protesters are
that they blame their own situation on an elderly woman who has been
out of power nearly 25 years.
Perhaps a quick glance in the mirror would be an idea.'

I love the comments pages! Nice one... and I quite agree!

  1. Always easier for people to blame others rather than strive to make their own situation better. Most of the protesters weren't even alive when Thatcher left power anyway.

Thatcher-hate is all the fashion nowadays, but it seems to me that many of the people who complain she "destroyed society" are the same ones who make society such a crap place to live now anyway.

And how twisted must you have to be to actively celebrate another human being's passing? The Independent today reported a 16-year old who had gleefully attended one such party. He was born in 1997.

This week has certainly brought out the worst in some people!

  4. You have got to be sick, warped and deluded to dance on someone's grave. I am disgusted at someone in my own profession who is organising this big party. NO WAY would she be teaching my children. They wouldn't be going to that school ever again.
I teach; I make no apology for being a true blue but NO WAY do I bring my own political beliefs and thoughts into my teaching.
Disgusted too at people whom I know, who seem to revel in her death. They are blinkered and unable to see BOTH sides of the argument...they just jump on the band wagon without THINKING.
Had our country laid down and died,in April 1982, there would be no GREAT BRITAIN remaining. Had the govt not stood up to the unions, the country would be dead by now.
Lefties make me sick simply because they protest and mock and even riot...what do they offer that is constructive...sweet sod all! All they do is agitate, cost the country money in extra policing and generally try to bring the country down. Most of them are not interested in making the country a better place.
But to celebrate the death of a very ill lady , who was, suffering from dementia...well shame on them!
I would like to spit on their graves when they pass on...but that would only drag me down to their level.

I say Long Live that lady. She did so much to keep this country afloat . And yes,she made mistakes too. But that is part of life. At the end of the day she did what she thought was best at the time for this country.

  5. absolutely agree with every word. Regardless of feelings about someone, she was a wife, and mother and a friend as well as having a political legacy. Some of the behaviour displayed this week has made me even more ashamed to be associated with this country than I normally am.

  6. I felt the same! Watching people (whom I know) rejoice, sickened me. But then this put it into perspective for me..

'The hard-left campaign to get “Ding Dong the Witch is Dead” from the Wizard of Oz to the top of the charts has seen the track downloaded a mere 20,000 times. Or in other words, by less than 0.031 % of the population.

Those sad lefties that are buying it will be pleased to hear their cash is lining the pockets of shareholders in the multi-national corporations EMI Feist, and their owner, Sony who bought it from Citi, the world’s largest bank, in a £2.5 billion deal… '

    ha ha ha!!!

  7. And this:

Between 1964 and 1979, Labour closed a total 326 coal mines.

Between 1979 and 1990, Margaret Thatcher closed a total of 165 coal mines.

    Oh dear...those evil Tories!! ;-)
