Saturday...

Saturday was an Exeter kind of day!

First stop...and that meant a trundle down the hill....

You won't find Otto Retro in the centre of the city; it's

almost at the bottom of Fore Street.

It's worth the walk !

It's one of my favourite shops in Exeter because you never know what

you'll find when you get there!

Under new management,Ottos has had a bit of a tidy up

so that it is now a bit easier to rummage around!

I particularly loved this backing paper on an old cabinet!

And this old waste bin caught my eye...

And the eye of many others as I walked around Exeter with it after

I had bought it, along with a book of piano music!

After a wander around the quay, it was back to, 'The Oddfellows'

for lunch (it's a great little pub; turn left at Waterstones at the top of the town.)

Fed and watered and some more wandering...

My next favourite shop is Jenni Flower.

Situated almost next to Exeter Central Station, this little

jewel in the town never fails to bring a smile to my face.

  1. Love the bin, and the pretty front cover to the music! Good thing I'm nowhere near Exeter - the cabinet might prove irresistable on account of the cute paper backing it!

(The word verification made me giggle 'cos I read two letters wrong - it says 'pinampum' but I read it as 'pinapmum'! I thought it was complimenting me!!!)

  5. Ooh, what lovely places, Sal. I shall have to visit those! Love the idea of the Oddfellows pub (perhaps it was the Oddfellows Hall at some stage in its history, or close to the Oddfellows Hall? For those who don't now, the Oddfellows was a friendly society ... well, I think it was!) And what a lovely florists, too ... must put all those on my List of place to visit in Exeter.

  9. Some fab places shown there. Love the look of the Otto Retro shop. The birdcage paper you saw in the back of a cabinet is from Paperchase - I have some of this and it was in the shop a few months back for around £1.25 a sheet!!
