Snippets or Doodles ?

I should be doing my GCSE English (Poems from other cultures!!) for my lessons... but my mind keeps wandering...and wondering!
I am seriously thinking of changing my blog name...I love the name Flora Doodles... so much!!
Or, if Flora Doodles is copyrighted..then Flora's Doodles is fine by me
So what do you think.. Flora's Doodles or Sal's Snippets ? LOL

*

The thing is, that this would drastically affect other things...take for instance dear Mr Snippets..would he like a change of name too..to... Mr Doodles ?
Where is that man when I need him most?
*
Ah I remember.
I can't ask him today as he is attending a funeral and so it is not the time or place to mention such trivia really..is it?!
***
Or is it?
I mean, can you imagine him receiving a text right in the middle of, 'Ashes to ashes..etc..'Snippets or Doodles darling?'.
You can?
Hmmm I think I'll wait...and create.

I stuck these die cuts on to lolly sticks. I thought someone (goodness knows who!!)could maybe use them for seed labels..or anything else that takes your fancy.

Or just to pretty up a gloomy place.
(Should have given some to Mr Doodles/Snippets to take with him)

I found some red paper cups to enable me to use my new Flora Doodles ;-)

Simple prettiness.

And now to open my post...oh what a surprise!!

Time for a cuppa and a relax ;-)

The poetry can wait ;-)

Change of sex!! ;-) lol

'I wish I was a girl....I wonder how much the operation will cost'...! LOL
Today's quote from Mr Snippets (in a high, squeaky voice) as I showed him my creations.
I always show him what I'm up to ; he has to stop what he is doing and make the appropriate noises of, 'Ooh that's lovely'...or words of that sort! Today, he made me giggle!
It was out with the scraps of fabric today. I found some very lovely oriental ish scraps..and I have some gorgeous ribbons to use up too.

And now for more gorgeousness...
FLORA DOODLES!!
Don't you just love that name..I would love to be called just that!!

What about these for embellishements!!

I bought them from this wonderful seller on ebay...

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Homespun-From-The-Heart

She has a fantastic selection of craft supplies..so do pay her a visit. I really recommend her.

Of course, I'm wondering what I can do with the boxes!!
I'll give it thought when I have finished with these...

Hope your day is a good one ;-)

The Chinese Year of the Ox!! ..and a competition/giveaway

At the weekend, the Chinese welcomed in the year of the Ox!

Celebrations for the Chinese New Year are always very colourful !!

(Personally,I think it should have been the Year of the Box...cos I am always altering them!!)

But Ox it is..and here's a little snippet of info, before I launch into a fun competition and very small giveaway...

Year of the Ox - 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021, 2033, 2045

The ox is said to be sedulous, simple, honest, and straightforward.

Fractious people are said to have an 'oxen temper'.
People born in this year are probably honest, laborious, patient, obstinate, and poor at communication.

So there!

Now for a bit of fun..(wait for this!!)

If you were asked to suggest a new subject for the Chinese New Year, what would be your idea..(i.e. mine is the Year of the Box.)

Doesn't have to be an animal cos I make the rules..!!

But it has to be funny! Hilarious even...you know what I mean!!

You'll win a Tag album..20 tags on a ring... 10 with an Oriental theme,10 plain.

And if you wish to peruse this, in order to see which delightful creature you resemble, just look for your birth year ...

(Good Luck!! )
Sal ;-)

Greetings!! ;-)

At Christmas, one of my pupils gave me a huge pack of blank cards and envelopes !

I was delighted as I had run out of blank cards after the V&H fair.
Not only that ..a customer came along to my stall on the day of the fair and snapped up all of my non Christmas cards!!

I found this rather super gorgeous fabric..this is not CK but we can't have CK on everything , can we ?!! ;-)

This fabric is called Darla.....Darla..ing!!

Oh all right then..a bit of CK too..if you must!

So that was my morning!
How was yours ?

Noteboxes

Obviously these didn't sell too well in W.H.Smith, this year!
Another 25 % off, on top of this, would've been even better!! LOL ;-)

So I snapped them up!
Pencil rulers.
I'm always on the look out for a bargain... and these are ideal to complete my next 'easy' idea ;-)

Setting to work, I gathered together some beautiful K&Co Amy Butler scrapbook papers (not quite as brightly coloured this time); chipboard;prima flowers; a small, empty box ; scissors...

And this well used, little gadget which I love...great for rounding off corners.
My lipstick, pen drive and this corner rounder are the three little things I most love!

I'm going mostly blues and greys today, for a change..with the odd touch of pale pink and green.
Cover the large piece of chipboard, with paper.
From the small box lid, cut off one side .
Stick one to the other.
Decorate.

Pop in your pencil and papers.
Hey presto..noteboxes

That's all there is to it!
