MA (Exeter) Landscape Archaeology

The scene was set....

The band started up....

All we needed now were the 'performers' and of course an audience!

I was there to celebrate a certain young man's further achievements.

Like a mum at her child's first sports day , I was just looking out for my little dear ;-)
But the Chancellor of Exeter University, Floella Benjamin,(remember her of 'Playschool' fame all those years ago?)..well she was looking out for them ALL. She greeted them all in such a way to make them feel so special and her speech was lovely...similar to last time but very lovely.
And she is so beautiful .

Floella wants every Exeter student to go out into the world with the 4 'C's...
More about her (makes interesting reading does this) :
I was sitting up in the balcony and couldn't get many decent flash allowed!! ;-(
Back to the Graduation Ceremony...
Soon it was Nich's turn ...

Apparently, Floella told him what a lovely smile he had...!
To which he replied...
' My mum has still got plenty of Ikea Rosali fabric at home if you are interested.'

(Just joking with that bit! LOL)

And now I'm back home blogging this..whilst he is, hopefully, having one helluva time
at the Post Grad Ball ! ;-)

He sure deserves it !

Go Nich!!
And thank you for a wonderful day ;-)

Just Moochin' !

Sometimes it's just nice to do a bit of 'mooching', if you know what I mean!
Today, I mooched around in the craft room but achieved very little in the process really..I suppose you can say I am 'end of the weekish' ! (However, I've felt a bit like since Monday !)
But assessing the fabric stash is a very important job, isn't it? Taking stock.
I discovered bits that I had forgotten about and brought them to the fore... trying to bring my imagination along with it.
I found this :

and this :

And finally, a piece of this, which arrived through my letter box last week, from a very kind lady who had read my recent blog post about fabrics from my past..thank you Caroline!

I did manage to finish some needle cases, which are now in my shop...Vintage Snippets... at a 'snip'!

I do hope that everyone has a great weekend ;-)

I have something very special to attend and just pray that I do not disturb the Chancellor's speech with my cough that won't quite go away!!

I must not forget my camera, that's for sure !

Think of a world without any colour...and ...a winner !!

Plenty to inspire here!
And also... a winner...

I just loved reading the comments on this blog post last week..I think I read them so many times!

A BIG thank you to everyone who took part.

I loved them all...but there can only be one winner.

So, into a hat went your names and the winner is :

(Gem..Please email me your snail mail address ;-)

Back in the land of crafting!

The door on the jolly old craft room didn't stay closed for too long!! ;-)
I've been itching to get on and 'make'...(the 'make' being my escape from my 'proper job',which I do love, but having done it for nigh on 35 years it is good to have a change of activity!!)

Anyway, I've broken myself in gently...whilst tidying up I found ...

If you have a shop in your town or village, where curtains are made on the premises, they often have old sample books that they no longer ask nicely!!

Which is what I did ;-)

That done...get your free swatches from CK...however, I notice that they now limit the number which you can request ;-(

Anyway, I fiddled you do.. ;-)

In an attempt to make some needle cases for the next V&H Fair...

The ''inners' are yet to be completed as I ran out of felt.
So nowhere near finished... but watch this space..I am back in the land of it rather slowly.

And these cost me very little to make..all free, apart from the K&Co Felt flowers...and you can even do those yourself..I was just being a tad lazy.

I'll put them in my shop as soon as they are finished..needles included!

Been nowhere, done nothing..not much to 'show and tell!!'

I've seen a lot of this place just fact I don't think I have felt as unwell in a very long time...the after effects of flu just seemed to drag on and on. (violins now please!)
I have not even had the energy to get stuck into these, properly...

In fact , I have a confession...this is the Christmas present that I gave my mum..a year's subscription...silly people got the order wrong and sent it to me...;-)

But today ...I feel much better and so, this morning, I introduced myself to my kitchen.

Cleaned my badly neglected bathroom...

I'm not a lover of my bathroom at all...tis not my taste but it's what was inherited..and is on the list for a 'makeover' day!
That job done, I took one loooonnnnggg look in my craft room...

And promptly shut the door!!

Things I love this new Ikea rug which brightens up my reminds me of Joseph's amazing technicolor dreamcoat!

And as for this fab poster..I sneaked into the 'ex student ' quarters (it's ok, he said I could)..

I love it...the photos don't really do it justice...

Talking of Nich, it's his graduation ceremony on Saturday and so we all know where I'll be going, don't we ?!! ;-)
And finally..the day ended with two awards...which was better than any medicine a Dr could prescribe.

Thank you , Marie!

Here are the "rules" for sharing these awards with eight other bloggers:

These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these kind writers. When you pass the award along please include these guidelines. I am to choose eight friends to share this with....

Well to be honest I could not single out 8 blogging friends if you have visited my blog and commented on here this year , please help yourself to these would give me great pleasure!
