Hearts, tarts, hoops... and hooks! ;-)

Now then...

Should I buy the dress above..or the one below?

I spotted these displays, yesterday ... The Queen of Hearts and Alice... in these windows of a shop in The Narrows, Totnes.

Window shopping is what I mainly did...although I did dash in here to buy some embroidery hoops.

And then I came home and had a think...a long think!

I raided a few of these gorgeous vintage 40s/50s fabrics, which I bought from Donna.
And...

...a project has started!

All to be revealed at a later date.

Right now, I have other things on my mind!

Tuesday craft morning is my responsibility this week..and I am worried.
Very worried.

Thankfully, I can crochet and I've attempted this before with my guests...but they found it quite difficult!
But I do believe that if at first you don't succeed...! (Give up! No...Nooooo way!)

And so, in the week, I took myself to David and Charles publishers, which is only a stone's throw from where I live. They have plenty of books and craft materials etc and in amongst the crochet section....
(I looked carefully for the words 'beginners', 'starter', 'dummies' etc !) I found...
'Crochet Scarves'.

Do join me on Tuesday, for some fun and frivolity...bring a hook... and your sense of humour!
Hope everyone is having a grand weekend!
;-)

oh, oh, que vas-tu fabriquer ?..
Les tissus sont vraiment jolis.
I have sense of humour but ... don't live near and ... don't know hooking ... but I'd liked to learn.
Beaucoup de "succès" pour ta matinée bricolage mardi !

Have the hook, have the sense of humour - sadly Totnes is a bit too far away. Or maybe you are going to post it on your blog - in case I shall definitely look on Tuesday.

Great title Sal and I love those costumes!

Great window displays - I picked up a crochet hook a couple of weeks ago and managed a little square with the help of a friend who sat beside me and guided me - I left it for a couple of days afterwards and of course, I've forgotten how to do it so will watch for your post on Tuesday to give me the inspiration to have another go:)

I guess it all depends on what mood you're in. If you're in a curious mood then go with Alice, but if you're at that time when you want to chop someone's head off... I've never seen a Queen of Hearts costume before. Isn't it fab? Good luck on Tuesday. Wish I could join you as I can't crochet. xx

Love the Alice dress. Another one here who needs Crochet for Dummies, but would love to learn. Maybe one day.

Hope the crochet/crafting session went well and everyone retained their sense of humour.x

Totnes looks like a very pretty town. I love the window displays. Crochet is something I have been trying to learn for the past few months and failing. I think I need to put more time and effort in and hopefully your next post will help me!
