Vintage oats!


Have you had your oats today? ;-)



I was browsing on ebay, last week, when I suddenly caught sight of these : eight vintage posters, which were published by the Quaker Oats Company,probably during the 1940s 0r 1950s,the idea being to get children to eat their oats.
So I put in a bid and because noone else bid, I won them for 99p!


Such quaint designs !


And little rhymes.


Quite charming in fact!





I love this one with the little scottie dog!




I've put them up in my classroom, along with all the other vintage bits which adorn the walls.



Meanwhile..here's a snippet of history for you:

  7. Great posters! Just my sort of thing. Enjoyed the peep into your classroom too. Will let you know when my next lot of posters are arriving in the shop. There will be some macmillan Nature study ones as well as a few history/geog.
