My garden and my 'quiet place' ;-)

In my garden today, I seem to be mostly growing...

Celandine!

And..

I have a lot to do....so no more crafting for a while as I need to be here...!

Having said that, this morning I quickly knocked up some very basic bunting, to pretty up the 'quiet place' outside my teaching room, where I can rest, if needs be !

I had some scraps left over!

Just the place for a cuppa and a read.

And one needs fine things when one rests, doesn't one?!

Hope your weekend is a good one!

;-)

  1. Can I come and sit in your quiet place?! I think I need to create one in my garden which at the moment is more like a wild place!!! The celandine is very pretty. I would like to grow some. You have a lovely garden - like a fairy glade! The bunting is great too!

  2. What a nice big garden you have! I always notice things like that since having to move to an 'average' size garden after having ou own smallholding.
I have jealous feeling about your greenhouse too..... its on my wish list but I'm hoping to aquire one as soon as I get a little more money coming in. What do you grow in yours?

  5. Sal - looks like you have gone along the same track as me - I have let the celandines flower wherever they like - they look so pretty and it is nigh on impossible to stop them anyway. I love those pansies with the mauve edging - amd your bunting is lovely too. Everything is so colourful - you have a real way with colour.

  6. What a glorious garden, Sal! I would love one that size. Pity we can't amalgamate the garden here with the one at our 'other' house just around the corner! But oh, tell me about the celandine ... they are everywhere right now! We have been to Jack's Patch (Wyevale) today, and bought lupins (which is really manna for slugs!) and a hellebore and a penstemmon and a geraminum Samobor (deep purple) and some violas. Such garden centres are often sniffed at by plants'persons, but the stock there is clean and fresh with seldom a yellowing leaf (unless it's meant to be yellow) and the staff are always helpful.
On the Jane Toller book! I had that years ago but I think I've parted with it. I really enjoyed it and learning about treen.
Have a good weekend - let's hope it remains frost-free!

  16. Hi Sally

I got here via Greentwinsmummy's blog - and see you live in Totnes. I am in France and my nearest town Vire which is twinned with Vire.

And if Simon, my OH, had read this post he would not have spent an age trying to remember the name of celendines.

    Happy gardening/crafting
