Gee up!

Well, here we are and we're under starter's orders!
And just look at that sky!

Blimey, I dont think I can make it over this!
When he says 'jump', I jump..but not that flippin high!

It seems a heck of a way to run, especially on a Sunday!
And one of us is decidedly flagging already ;-)

We are at Newton Abbot racecourse....

The views are towards both Wolborough Hill

...and Knowles Hill

This is also where the 'mighty' Torquay United have their training pitches. And judging by their absence it shows just how keen they must be to gain promotion !Hmmm!

But we're not here for the races or the footy.

It's the car booty...known as 'The Big One'.

T'is busy today!

Even the scarecrows are meeting!

The plants look good.

Although I didn't find too much at today's booty, to write home about !

However, two crinoline lady pics , 50p for the two, isn't bad eh?!

They even have the maker's name and the date on the reverse ,1972, plus where they were framed too...a gallery in Newton Abbot.

I did purchase some very healthy looking Fuchsias

In particular...

Devonshire Dumpling!
My favourite!

Back by 10am !

And now to spend the rest of the day in the sun!

;-)

  4. Do you know, I've never been that fond of fucshias but seeing that one, called Devonshire Dumpling, I shall now look out for her. I reckon she would look good in the pots once the tulips are 'over'! Thank you for drawing my attention to her!

  8. Great photos, Sal, and pretty good finds, even if there weren't too many. I'm not so jealous today because I got to my first proper Vide Greniers this afternoon!

  10. Those crinoline ladies brought back memories Sal - when i was a kid they used to be everywhere, everybody had at least one on the wall, on the tablecloth - everywhere.

  12. Fantastic! I love the green grass the most though. It is Autumn here and the grass is just starting to turn green again after a very hot summer.
