Treat of the day ! ;-)

Yesterday was a bit of a treat as we ventured to a little place called Landscove, where there happens to be the best nursery ever!
Obviously, an executive decision had to be made when we arrived...tearoom or nursery first? Hmm...tea room... in order to set ourselves up well, for the rest of the visit!
There's plenty to tempt you, with the most fabulous scones and very gorgeous Bacon and Brie baguettes on offer !
(Amongst other things!)

This is an old fashioned nursery.
None of your fripperies, tacky useless gifts, cheap books, crummy ornaments...you get the picture (or not...you can't get those here either!)
A nursery where everything is thriving and blooming in such a wonderful setting.
Too good to be true... almost.

The 3 acre garden is open to the public, free of charge.

So you can wander to your heart's content and for as long as you wish...
well they do close at 5pm.

I've been here many times and never ever get bored.

Most of their plants are grown at Hill House and there are expert staff
at hand, to help you with your gardening problems etc etc..I know because I listened in (!) on one of the bits of advice! However, that was in one of the glass houses and I found myself getting hotter and hotter so eventually had to leave!

If you visit Devon and love gardens and gardening then Hill House is a must!
You will not be disappointed!

When you've had your leisurely walk around the beautiful grounds, it's time to do the glasshouses!
All 18,000+ square feet of them!

A real treat..and so much better than sitting on a beach with five million other people, don't you think?
