Sunday, late afternoon…

Sunday, late afternoon… and Nich very kindly offered to accompany me to the local cemetery to put a plant on my parents’ grave….and then he said that, afterwards, we would go on a tour of the Christmas lights in Torquay.

The traffic, getting to Torquay, was exceedingly busy
and the weather was wet. Hence any photographs taken are poor by my standards!

But Nich being Nich had it all planned! As soon as we made our way to Torquay, on went some very appropriate Christmas music! A good mixture of crooners from the past, classical, modern etc.  I told him that he should set himself up as a Christmas, tour guide! It was wonderful and really helped me to ‘get into’ the Christmas spirit!

Above is a portion of the window of what I think is the best store in Torquay: Hoopers.

It’s a delightful store that has been here, overlooking the harbour, since 1982!  It’s stood the test of time and has a lovely restaurant, also overlooking the harbour. Hoopers is classy! There are actually three other stores in England and these are situated at Tunbridge Wells, Harrogate and Wilmslow. You might even know one of them!

We moved on and then Nich turned the car around and did the return drive, along by the harbour and the sea front.

I managed to snap this octopus! I’m not sure of the Christmas connection but nevertheless it was lovely.

As I’ve said, the photos don’t do Torquay justice but you get the gist and they have tried very hard to give Torquay a fine, festive flavour.
