It’s good to be back…

Well, I’m back! It’s been a rubbish month and I had a virus of some sort that dragged on and on…and on …and left me whacked out!

Anyway, enough of that and moving swiftly on, I suddenly find that Christmas is not too far away and I’m not very prepared. As well as this, I’ve lost all enthusiasm;  I need to give myself a good shake as I always love Christmas.

We don’t go overboard when it comes to Christmas but I do like to decorate the tree; I do like to get out the Christmas books ( usually with Nich as he does similar!) and I do love the time with family. A simple Christmas really.

Talking of Christmas books, I do have quite a few but I think my favourite has to be the book that Mr S gave me last year…

I call it a ‘proper coffee table book’!

I’ve not been to F&M for many years but I have to say that anything Fortnum related does bring a smile to my face! And I’ll never forget having afternoon tea there, with my parents, when I was much younger.

I’ll be back with more Christmas blog posts, very soon…I’m easing myself back into it, very gently!

  7. I had a friend who worked on the Fortnum customer service phone line - their customers are either rich, eccentric, self indulgent, or all three! but he loved them all. I have never bought anything there and he himself could only afford their biscuits but it is iconic and long may it live. Betty

  8. Glad you’re feeling better. I’ve got my copy of Christmas Chronicles on hand to get me in the mood although I’ve only made Christmas cakes so far. B x
