So I’m quite bemused! This has never happened before! At the weekend, I noticed that my ‘For Your Eyes Only’ rose had blooms of various colours ( as mentioned on my previous blog)…and now another colour has appeared! I’m finding this rather interesting! Any rose experts out there?!
Anyway, moving on…and yesterday, we drove to East Devon, calling in at Otterton Mill, for coffee. I’d not visited there for many years. Unfortunately they seemed to be doing lots of renovations and so the cafe was in a small marquee and I didn’t manage to take many photos.
The little farm shop did look rather appealing …
Afterwards, we drove to Budleigh Salterton, one of the places that we often visited when daughter Helen lived in East Devon.
Budleigh has a certain charm about it! With its red, sandstone cliffs, pebble beach, coastal walks etc, it has a natural beauty…and not forgetting that it is situated on the Jurassic Coast.
The day was dry but dull ...no blue sky…but here are a couple of photos from a previous trip:
Today, we had guests to entertain and we took them to Longcombe Nursery, for coffee, before returning home to have lunch. And as usual, at Longcombe, they have new displays, which are beautiful. For a little nursery, they always focus on presenting their plants to their best.
And finally, in our own garden, this week…another ‘Peace’ rose…
…as well as an incredible second flush on the ‘Ruby Celebrations’ rose…
And, ‘The Poet’s Wife’, below, just keeps on giving…leaving me to wonder, was she so generous with the poet?! 😜😂 😱
I’m also rather taken with this Cosmos. Looking back at my seed order, this one is ‘Double Click, Rose Bonbon’! I need to save the seeds!
