My lovely daughter, Helen, has a birthday today…and she’s working for some of the day. She’s an artist and a superb one too! She does face painting, for parties and events; she paints shop windows; she paints portraits and she does commissions. And as well as this, she also paints for a charity called ‘Supershoes’, giving her time and her talent, for free, to a very worthy cause. She’s painted almost 80 pairs since she started painting for Supershoes. You can view them here
I’m very lucky to have her! She did my garden wall a couple of years ago…
And so, I recently, I found another task for her!
Back in 2018/2019, my daughter in law, Lizzie, made some herb labels at pottery classes and she made some for me too…I used them in my veg trug at our previous garden.
However, they either became broken due to the frost or they were lost in our move and I don’t have many remaining. Thus, a few weeks ago, my husband made some new ones, this time with some offcuts of wood….
I then passed them to Helen to paint them and to do the lettering. But first of all we had to choose the colours. She showed me what she had and I fancied the red/green/yellow/ turquoise mix.
That done, she painted them a number of times! And then she did the lettering. Finally she sealed them.Yesterday, when we dropped off her birthday presents, she gave me the finished labels.
And here they are:
I’m really pleased with these! Thank you so much to Mr Snippets and Helen…a wonderful joint effort! And a big happy birthday to Helen!
Your daughter is very talented. And I love your painted signs.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Helen! Xx

ReplyDeleteYour plant labels are stunning!
Sorry I missed your daughters birthday. I hope she had a great day. What a fantastic artist she is. The herb labels are brilliant and will be so easy to see in the ground.
