Firstly, coincidences!
In the week, Nich sent me this, above; he thought that it was delightful and it reminded him of a picture that we have on our lounge wall. The artist is Lucy Grossmith and I have admired her work for some time. Well...lo and behold…
A few days later, this drops through my letter box! And the cover is designed by none other than…Lucy Grossmith! You can view more of her work here
I don’t usually subscribe to this mag but when I saw a deal that offered 6 issues for £6, including the Christmas double issue…well, it was as they say a ‘no brainer’! Worth it just for the cover!
As for Lucy Grossmith, I’ve often seen her designs on greetings cards…
My late mum always said that she loved a good greetings card; it runs in the family! And yesterday, I opened this one from Nich and family…it’s by the artist Kate Heiss. You can access her website here
In the week, I came across this picture, which was a colour plate from a book..
Entitled ‘December’ from Eliot Hodgin’s ‘The Months’, this is from 1950. It features Christmas Roses, a cyclamen, an anemone, violets and some seasonal greenery. I thought it was rather lovely.
But talking of rather lovely…between us, we know how to ‘create’ and have a good time!
After watching a Walt Disney dvd… the one with Santa’s workshop, which is truly amazing, we took to the craft table!
Three snowman…and can you guess what the other might be?! We do have fun!
