Mini pond…Mr Toad..and an elusive Heron!

A couple of weeks ago, I found this lovely large container and seeing as we haven’t the room to build a large pond in our new garden, I said to myself, ‘mini pond’!

And so that is what we did!

We have the ideal spot; a rather uninteresting spot where an Aucuba Japonica, a dainty Japanese Maple and a few ferns, mingle over it. So we had the makings of the ideal mini pond area.

With the addition of some Scottish pebbles and a few rocks which were left behind by the previous owner, our mini pond area very soon took shape.

Of course, one had to find a ‘Mr Toad’ to add to the mix…😁

And very shortly,  a rusty, garden heron is winging its way to this very spot…as Mr Snippets fancied one of those and who am I to object? So… watch this space!

You have to have water in a garden! No matter how small the container might be, I’m hoping that we will attract the wonderful wildlife that we know hangs around in this area!
