Simple pleasures that made my day...

We have the most beautiful, bank of Snowdrops
in the garden; no photo does them justice.

I stopped awhile, earlier, today, to admire and then,
as I strolled around,
I opened my eyes....it’s often
easy to look but not really see.

Looking more closely, I discovered....

It was tucked away at the bottom of the garden,

minding its own business; a beautiful Hellebore.

Zooming in, was also a treat....

                                       How beautiful are these plants?

I strolled on, saying goodbye to the Hellebore.

As I ventured into the smaller, back garden....a wow moment!

I didn’t expect these to be in bloom quite so soon!

Classed as ‘early spring flowers’ ( hmm Feb 2nd!)

this is the second year in the garden for these.

                       The name?

                       Iris Reticulata ‘ Katharine Hodgkin’...

It’s such a delightful dwarf Iris!

I did plant these in pots, in a very sheltered spot

but I think they would look equally good on an Alpine rockery.

I’d almost finished my wander when something caught my eye.

Just the one! How I do love these Anemone Blanda! Early or what?

Seems like ‘ early’ is the flavour in the garden

as I noticed Primroses in bloom too!

I fully expected to see the Winter Aconites and low and behold, like

little blobs of mini suns, there they were...

The simple pleasures that made my day! 😁
