July delights!

Quite often, it is the simple things that please as well as mystify.

For instance, firstly, there’s Common Fleabane.
This beautiful splash of yellow makes its entrance, every year, in a dry
and sheltered spot in our garden.
Yet...it is said to ‘prefer marshland, water meadows, damp hollows...’
You get the gist!
But,’ there's always one‘ , as they say!

The Common Poppy really needs no introduction!
Although classed as a wild flower, it fits perfectly well
in our garden, where the splendid splashes of red instantly give a
lovely spectacle. And oh boy, do their tissue paper petals look
good when partnered with Cornflowers!

Perennial Sweet Peas are another welcome sight and in
particular, this variety, ‘ Red Pearl’.
What it lacks in scent, it makes up for in its stunning blooms.
Just chop it back when it has finished flowering and it will
reward you year after year.

Three lovely flowers, at their best and each doing
their own ‘thing’ during the month of July.
