On a very gloomy morning, we crossed the Tamar Bridge, yesterday,
on our way to the Eliot House Hotel, Liskeard.
Some time ago, I was invited by a very nice lady called Ellie,
to take my vintage fabrics to something called, 'Cornwall Day'.
This is a grand get together of West Country Embroiderers
but I soon found out that not only were there embroiderers
present but many patchworkers as well!
Ellie had chosen a variety of stallholders for this event and so
as well as my vintage fabrics, there were beads, threads, ribbons,
sewing accessories, modern fabrics, wool etc etc.
I was glad to be able to sell the 'vintage flavour' to the
very large crowd of keen crafters!
At this event, there was a guest speaker from Norfolk :
very talented patchworker, Yvonne Brown.
She talked about her life and her work and her, 'show and tell'
was fascinating.
I sold plenty of fabric, had a lovely day and so,
all in all, it was well worth the trip 'over the border'!!
On Saturday, I will be at The Vintage Bazaar's Giant Rag Market
at the Cheese and Grain, Frome.
This promises to be a fabulous event as are all of Lizzie and Clare's
well organised 'dos'!
Hope to see you there!
;-)
What wonderful work -- Hope the weather brightens for your return journey xx
