Stressless or what!

A couple of months ago, dear Mr S had a very very bad back.

We just happened to be in a furniture shop in town where they had

Ekornes Stressless chairs for sale....for a few thousand pounds each,

I hasten to add!

GULP!

Anyway, he informed me that they were

the best thing since sliced bread.

So..we came home and he searched on various sites

until he came across oneof those free ads sites...

and lo and behold he found a second hand one for sale

...except that it was not one but two chairs and two stools

....at a 'bargain price'.

So off he goes... for the day ;-)

I say 'for the day' as the said chairs were in Bournemouth,

which is a bit of a jaunt from Devon,

especially on a Friday afternoon.

When he got home, he put the chairs in the lounge and,

to be totally honest, the lounge then looked like a medical centre

and I wasn't too happy.

But I suppose what's important is his back ?!

So, I removed one of the chairs to another room.

(Here you are Nich, have a chair!)

And just to get Dear Mr S back,

I've brought in my gorgeous vintage 1950s rug...

which he hates!

Well... fair's fair!

;-)

  1. That made me laugh, we have two brown chairs almost identical to those and my Mum's first comment was- it looks like a conference room !

  2. Well, if that rug is going to cause arguments maybe you should give it to me........ (ha! ha! ha!). It's a BEAUTY!

  3. I've had two Stressless chairs and stools for over 27 years! They're the most comfy chairs ever. Sadly the backing material is beginning to break down, but the leather cushions and frames are in good condition. (Mine have copper coloured metal frames - don't think they make them any more.) You'll find yourself easily nodding off in them!

  4. Never heard of stressless chairs before, they sound like a good idea, even if they are not especially glamorous. I love your rug, what a laugh! Hey you could put a crochet blanket or patchwork quilt on the chair.

  5. As a fellow back pain sufferer I can vouch for the fact that these chairs are magic to some backs. But don't let him give up on the exercise. I go to a physio and she manipulates my back and then gives me exercises to do every day - those in combination with a good chair - magic.

When James moved in we used his sofa's while mine went to his house to be rented out! Not a day goes by i don't think of those sofas!! In fact can I borrow the rug?

  11. The rug is gorgeous and when Mr S is sitting on the chair you won't see so much of it. Win win, I'd say. They occasionally have them in at Homesense, but they are still pricey. One day, when I win the Lottery....
