Vintage pretties... direct to your door !!

This morning, I had my own little private viewing of vintage pretties!!! ;-)

My lovely friend, Amanda, came over for coffee... and a natter (and my, did we natter !!)
And then came the 'serious business' of spreading out her wares on the carpet!!
Would you like to see, close up?

I have this terrible weakness for vintage embroidery! ;-)

Dear Amanda, thank you so much for your company!
Having had a well earned break,

Amanda (aka Shabby Chick) will be stalling again at Totnes, from Friday Feb 12th !
Do pay her a visit if you are in the area!

Oh...and I must not forget one last thing...I paced up and down in my house (yet again) early today.
Here's a clue..Mirror , signal , manoeuvre!
Someone had his driving test!!
Let's just say that I am now the only person in the house who did not pass their test first time!!
Well done Nich! ;-)

  1. Love the embroidery! How strange that such old-fashioned looking embroidery is now oh-so-fahionable! My Mum used to do this sort of stuff and I ran a mile from it, thinking it terribly naff and now it's terribly chic! I will put 12 Feb on my calendar and try to get to Totnes (weather permitting) and even might persuade my neighbout to go with me! I don't know Amanda's stall but the market place isn't that large, I'm sure I will be able to find her without SatNav (as if I didn't learn map reading in O level Geog at Grammar School!)

  19. I love your collection of embroidery, so wonderful! I have many old pieces that I've picked up at tag sales, seems to be getting more popular here, too.

I just found you from Anne's Frayed at the Edge link, congratulations!

  20. Well done Nich!
What a fantastic selection. I'd have been in seventh heaven. I love the cottage one, but they are all beautiful. If I visit Totnes again, I must try and make it for a Friday and visit her stall.
Your comment made me laugh, about the mashed potato. We also had sewing - the first thing we made was a skirt, and I put it on and it fell round my ankles. Put me off sewing for a while!

  27. Gosh what fabulous embroideries Sal. You lucky thing getting to see them. I love the one with the cottage and the flower border, I knwo whta you mena about a weakness for them. Just today bought a huge tablecloth for £2 from a charity shop. Seems a crime to get them so cheaply. At least it'll be loved all over again.

    Have a lovely weekend.
