I don't want you to panic but...

Last evening, I spent a few hours pacing around my house!

It all came quite out of the blue.

I was in the middle of my evening lessons when dear Mr S says to me ,

' Now I don't want you to panic but this is what has happened....'

The rest is here below on Nich's blog .
It's a brilliant piece of writing which truly made me think. It would have brought tears to my eyes but... I have been blubbing all evening anyway!

Please..do read it !

  1. What a worry for you Sal; so glad he got home safe and well.

Batten down the hatches, haul out the hot chocolate and head for the craft room ... the snow will pass in no time at all!

  2. Hello Sal !
we have had the same weather here in Britanny ! I like snow but I hate ice on the roads :-((
Fortunatly it has been better since yesterday along the coast, but it is always a big mess "inside" Britanny (in the Monts d'Arrés)There is solidarity between people : farmers take doctors and nurses to ill people. It's the right side of the bad weather.
We saw the bad weather in Great Britain on French TV news.
J'espère que la glace va enfin fondre et que les accidents ne seront pas trop nombreux.
    Attention à vous en Angleterre.

  3. It's good to hear stories like that - the British media seems to be getting worse at only telling us bad news!

  6. I know what you were going through. Our son was driving in the opposite direction on the A38 just before Telegraph Hill ... a notorious place for snow and ice even when the rest of Devon is clear! He managed to get home safely, though, like your Nich.

  11. Glad it turned out ok! One of neighbours came to the door at lunchtime on Saturday - he was worried because our cars hadn't been moved all week, and then on Saturday we hadn't opened the curtains .... a simple explanation - we didn't need to go out for anything, and on Saturday we were using our other lounge which has a log burning stove, so had just left the curtains shut over the very large window to keep the cold out!

  12. Oh my goodness Sal - I was in tears myself only half way through the blog post! Wow, what a lot of truly wonderful good samaritans there are. It makes me feel so glad to hear that all those people did their little bit to get Nich and Tris back home again.
I hope you are having a restful day now.
    Take care

  13. Glad it turned out OK in the end Sal, but what a worry for you. Horrible night all round. And, slightly off the point, but what a great post, and a lovely person your son comes across as - a real credit to you. Hope you had a chance to relax now and recover from all that worrying and pacing. Isn't it ironic, that the phrase I don't want to worry you,,, inevitably means that the speaker is about to do just that!
