What dropped through your letter box today ?

We didn't get our mail for a few days before Christmas, due to severe ice. And so a lovely bundle of mail appeared on the doormat this morning.
An envelope from the USA ,covered with an assortment of stamps.

And in the envelope...vintage buttons!

Hopefully, some of these will be for sale soon, in my shop, included in a project at which I am working !

'Devon Life', which was a bargain a few months ago at £1 per issue... I can't wait to read this with my cuppa.

And just when you are broke...the sales come along and guess who pops up...?!!

Oh and a late card from a lovely friend...

'Ways with Words'...an agenda for Keswick. Doubt I'll make it as far north as that... but there's always Southwold or Dartington.

And a magazine subscription reminder...shall I or shall I not? ;-)

I wonder ...what dropped through your letter box today?

  1. Yes, we had a lovely mail box this morning, too. A letter and card from friends in France - they're surviving the economic downturn by opening their lovely home in south west France as a B&B!
Plus a book via www.readitswapit.co.uk but nothing as exciting as those lovely buttons!

  2. Like you, Sal, our post has been halted by snow and ice and so a large number of cards didn't arrive until today. I don't mind a few coming late. How are you going to resist the CK sale I wonder?

  3. Some energy saving light bulbs .... I could hardly contain myself LOL !! I think that Devon Life mag is by the same publisher as our local one and you can subscribe for free online to browse through back issues. Lovely buttons BTW x

  4. Hello Sal,
today I've received a parcel from one my English friend (books 5 & 6 from the "Forsyte saga") a calendar with English recipes and ... C. Kidston soaps ! Yeess !
I don't subscribe to C.L because it is very expensive to send in France, it's cheaper to buy it to my newsagent (but I have to wait to read it :-()
Lovely agenda from Cumbria. We spent lovely holidays near Kendal. I love B. Potter, I "wanted" to see where she spent a part of her life.
    Have a nice day +++

  5. Hi Sal - hope you had a happy Christmas. Sadly, nothing has dropped through my letterbox today, or for well over a week now, as the postman doesn't seem to have made it as far as Denbury for ages. I am fed up, to be honest, as I'm waiting for a parcel from the States. Getting dark now, so no post today either by the looks of it. And my black bin hasn't been emptied for three weeks, either. Oh the joys of rural living. xx

  8. My postie didn't come so although I subscribed to Country Living at the fair in November it hasn't arrived and I keep having to stop myself looking when I'm out at the shops! Maybe tomorrow!

  14. What a lovely selection - I too had the CK leaflet but did restrain myself. I also had some fab Liberty fabric which I had completely forgotten about! That should keep me out of mischief for a couple of days!
