After a very hairy, scary start to the day, I think I can say that I am just about there as far as Christmas is concerned!
I drove down to Torquay at 6.30 am and did the remaining 'food shop' in quite pleasurable surroundings at M&S, The Willows ......but wowee...coming home was the most awful experience on the roads and I slithered and slid on the road to our village , trying to remember what I have been told to do in such conditions!
Thankfully, I arrived home, shaken but in one piece.
We may not have snow but we have ice rinks; there have been so many accidents here and my goodness, it is lethal out there!
Do take care everyone and I wish you all a...
VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas!xx
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you arrived safely Sal!
ReplyDeleteI blessed the fact that we have a Landrover yesterday or there is no way we could have got down to the stables to look after the horse - the roads were ungritted & lethal.
My friend's husband slipped & fell on his way home on Tuesday evening & knocked himself out! Fortunately someone found him but he is in hospital with hypothermia, so take care out there!

Glad you managed to make it home safely... I've pretty much abandoned my car this past week and taken to walking everywhere - my legs don't know what have hit them!!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Sal, look forward to seeing you again in 2010 at the next round of V&H fairs

My two sons and partners have a two hour drive from Bristol so I hope the roads do not get any worse. I shall not be happy until the front door opens and they are all standing there.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good Christmas

ReplyDeleteThe pavements around us have been lethal, and the hospital full of people who have slipped. I'm glad you got home safely.

I think this Christmas will go down in the records as feeling like a proper Christmas.. with suitably festive weather around.. however lethal it is underfoot or wheels.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and yours a very special day tomorrow..
Look forward to catching up with you on the other side.
Have fun..
