5. Teaching Maths in 2008

A logger cuts down a beautiful forest because he is totally selfish and inconsiderate and cares nothing for the habitat of animals or the preservation of our woodlands. He does this so he can make a profit of £200. What do you think of this way of making a living? Topic for class participation after answering the question: How did the birds and squirrels feel as the logger cut down their homes? (There are no wrong answers. If you are upset about the plight of the animals in question counselling will be available)

  7. Gosh Sal,
That's a bit depressing, and there's me thinking Oscar is doing well at Maths.... does that mean he hasn't learnt anything at all and if so, what are his chances for his impending education within the secondary sector?
With love from a now a gloomy Mum!

  11. VERY VERY TRUE!!!

Its such a shame these days everyone is so scared that giving the correct answer will upset someone else so we all sit in our houses and refuse to look let alone speak to anyone else.

LOL don't get me started! I'm far from politically correct!! (funny how political correctness always seems to be to avoid upseting someone else and not you?)

  21. That is really funny - but unfortunately it's also true which is why we have so many children leaving school who are barely numerate or literate. It's a sad reflection on the education system we have today.
