My Friday Snippets

Yesterday, it was World Book Day and when I had a few spare moments, I sat and made a handful of bookmarks...with this...

Meanwhile in...

I have put things of this sort:

*

...before thinking about other things...

I have to admit that I started the covers of these paper bag albums, before the last V&H Fair...and because they are so time consuming, I put them away 'for another time '.

I do love making them ...but they take me an age..and I love 'instant'!!

But I've started so I'll finish!

Have a lovely weekend, everyone ! ;-)

  2. Thanks for the advice Sal, I am definitely NOT homeschooling her (that would mess her up good and proper forever!!!) but I still don't know what to do. Neither choice is good, I've spent most of the day feeling really down. From what I read in the paper the school is "chaotic, disorganised and letting the pupils down" and there are also too many "playground accidents" (which I think they are hinting at a bullying problem perhaps).

    Loving your work today :)

  3. Love the albums...there's such a lot of work in making things by hand that are unique. And I see you have collection of traditional story books...they're great fun, aren't they?

  4. Very nice. I love the bookmarks, they look really cool. The covers certainly pay back your effort in terms of the end result.

  5. I loved seeing those Blackie editions of Angela Brazil. I loved these when I was a girl in the 1950s and didn't even suspect that they'd been written at least 30 years earlier and were really more suitable for my mother's generation than my own. I have since collected a few of those titles and intend to collect more. I don't want the originals - it's the little Blackies that I like!

  6. How lovely.... You got the "look" of those bookmarks just right, they go beautifully with your wonderful collection of vintage children's books. What lovely things to own. x
