From the ' Sick Bay '....

My head, it hurts,
My legs, they ache,
My nose is full of goo.
I'm lying here, in my bed,
With the bl**dy flu!

It's worse when you're a woman,
You have a house to run,
You just can't take time out
like this,
There's housework to be done! ;-)

I've drunk most of South West's water,
Thank god I have a filter!
Cos it tastes foul,
But needs must,cos
My body's out of kilter!

In fact, my body does not know
Which way it should turn,
I can't get comfy,
I can't keep cool,
See my body, burn!

I am so hot!
(But not like that! ;-)
I'm sweating...shivering too,
I have one wish for 2009:
Rid me of this flu!

I couldn't sleep last night,
Know what I did instead?
I wrote this poem
for my blog,
Did it in my head!

But now I'm stuck
For this last verse
Oh what am I
to do?
Well what do you expect?
I've got the bl**dy flu!

(But I am getting a bit better... as I'm managing to read a few blogs today ;-)

I have been the model patient,
As quiet as can be,
Whilst you've been supping beer,
In front of the TV.
I know, cos I can hear,
My bed is just above you,
But thank you for the honey, honey!
So I spose I still love you ;-)

If you didn't love me
I would not know what to do
No laughs,no smiles nor poetry
It would all be left to you

Get well soon! In response to your question at my blog sal: it is £13.00 for adults and free for children to get in Kew now but I also remember when it was one penny! On New Year's Day it was free for everyone though to celebrate the start of Kew's 250th year.

Do get better soon ... it's a horrid virus.

I love the picture at the top of your blog by the way.

Wish I could write amusing verse like that ... to do it when you're not 100% ... well what can I say?

Happy New Year and a healthy and happy 2009

Hi - thanks for popping by my blog. I think the pattern was in an issue dating back to the 80's - and I agree it was a good read in it's day. Sorry you are feeling ill - the lurgy is all about - particularly here in Devon! Hope you soon feel better.

Poor you, get well soon. We seemed to have the lurgi for about 6 weeks leading up to Christmas. I told my Mum it's rubbish being ill when you've still got to clean up and be a Mummy, she rolled her eyes and said yes dear - tee hee (she has been doing it for a long time too - oops)
