The Herefordshire Black and White Trail..(and big ,strong thighs!!)

Hopping over the county border, last Wednesday, we decided to do the 'Black and White trail!' in Herefordshire.

Of all the villages, my favourite had to be Weobley.

In 1999 Weobley won the title of Village of the Year!

In winning the title, this (below) was commissioned...it keeps watch over the village.Do you know what it is?

On our way back to Clun, 'Mr Snippets' said we could pass through ...

'Hmmm' thought I! Seems like a very long detour (to Tyne and Wear?!) Surely not??!

But it was a black and white trail, after all! And I was well away, dreaming of big, strong thighs...LOL

Ah...Sadly,he meant the Newcastle, near Clun. What a disappointment. ;-)

All that black and white was muddling me now...;-)

BTW...

Were you right?

And the link between this bird and the above footballer is... ?

Cyber prize for anyone who knows!

The Herefordshire Black and White trail, with a bit of dreaming as well..! Love it!!

  1. Ooh really enjoyed that leg of our tour. How pretty are all those cottages... I have a real 'thing' about magpies. Not as bad as it used to be, but I used to be VERY superstitious about them. Nice sculpture. Aren't 'The Toon Army' also known as The Magpies?
What do I win if I'm right? :o)

  3. Mr Shearer played for The Magpies also known as Newcastle United. Talking about thighs - Stuart Pearce did it for me but David Ginola was most beautiful player ever! Villa for Champions League spot this season?

  5. Well I wanted to see pictures of big strong thighs! Where were they? ;-)

As others have already said - Alan Shearer played for The Magpies. Have just seen funkymonkey's comment about Villa - a fellow blogging Villa fan? I'm off to check her out immediately!

  6. We have friends who live at Kinnersley - only a few miles up the road - this surely is one of the most peaceful parts of the world

  7. Magpies !! Thanks for the comment - a lady made this one for us and then we stuck every brick on by hand!! I never had a dolls house when I was little - I remember making a house out of a shoebox from Blue Peter, after that I was always making them right up to teens though they did improve all the time - so when we saw these at a fair we were smitten. It will take us ages to do but we have almost everything we need in boxes.
