Our surname being 'Hall' !
Much Wenlock is steeped in History. I'd love to know more about this place, in particular the hall! One day I just might get around to reading this..

(One day!!)
Much Wenlock is a most delightful little place in Shropshire.
And finally, we visited...(drum roll!!) ...Ludlow..!
Sir John Betjeman believed Ludlow to be the most attractive town in England.
Alec Clifton Taylor reckoned Broad Street to be one of the finest streets in the land.
Home of... De Greys!
In Corve Street, 'The Feathers' dates from the middle ages.
The Norman castle was built by Roger de Montgomery
The famous market place!
And the rest is history!
Ludlow really is a little gem of a place!
And so that's it..Shropshire done and stored away until another time!
A wonderful time was had by all !
I just can't wait to return;-)
lol Surname's Hall... Snorted coffee all over my keyboard! That's so funny. A picture to be framed methinks...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tour of Shropshire. It's been great. Although not too far away from me it's one of those places I've never been to, only through. Must make the effort.
I used to live in Wolverhampton so Ludlow and Much Wenlock were near enough to visit a lot. Love both places - and a beautiful walk in the Mary Knoll valley just outside Ludlow (lots of pied flycatchers). Eleven out of ten to the chap in the photo!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing such lovely photos... as I never know that that lovely town existed!
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful historic homes!
I think that if I would have won yesterdays lottery... (100 million!)there`s where I would love to buy my home/castle! lol
I hope that you are having a lovely weekend... and by now... you may have guessed that sadly I didn`t win the lottery... never mind!
By the way... I have something for you in my blog!
Kisses
