Silhouette or Salhouette !!

Tuesday craft morning brought silhouettes!
This was my mum's idea....she had worked on these prototypes before we arrived...(above and below)

There were various books to give us inspiration.
I thought I would use the artwork of L.S. Lowry.

'Going to the Match'

'The Procession'
'Father Going Home'

So...my attempt...

Meanwhile, my mum and sister worked on their floral displays...

With a little improvisation..

And naturally, in the midst of all the mess .... much needed refreshment for the workers...;-)

The usual fun time was had by all!!

Next week's going to be fab..I'm teaching them to crochet ;-)

I really like the silhouette cards and pictures. I especially like your man with the dog and the cards with just a hint of colour added. I feel really inspired to have a go at this kind of thing with my son during the school holiday this week. Thanks for the inspiration Sal!

Aren't they effective! Your crafty fun group sounds like fun. Wish I could come and join you. Big day at school today due to unsettled students but we got there in the end. Whew! XXX

I'm so happy you stopped by my blog today--and now I have a new fun blog to read!!

Your crafty night with Mom and Sis sounds like so much fun--and the projects are wonderful. The Lowry interpretation is so cute, and the little doggy is the perfect adddition.

I also really love the one with the yellow/chartreuse flowers (I am right now on a lunch break from sewing up a cute little bag with black and white and chartreuse!) I love coincidence, don't you?!

Smiles, Karen

They look fun.
I wish there was a craft club near me...I would so enjoy it...instead of sitting crafting on my todd!
Take care,
Alison x

I have always really liked silhouettes, my step-dad has four lovely ones on his wall, yours are great, I would like to give making some a try. I have been meaning to blog of my love for Lowry, I have always said, if I ever win a lot of money on the lottery, as if! I would buy a Lowry original! x
