From Woodpeckers to Magpies!

Thursday morning in Newton Abbot and that usually means coffee in... Magpies!

Situated right near the famous clock tower, Magpies, owned by Rick and his wife Carol, is a delight for lovers of fine things, especially bears and dolls!

So come through the doorway with me... and share the delights.

Gorgeous Charlie Bears! Which one would you like?

Beautiful Dolls...each crying out to be chosen.

What a selection! 'Buy buy me!'

Here is one of my faves...

And when you have finished browsing and buying, you find yourself in the Nest Cafe at the back of the shop.

Rick is always there to guide and help you. He makes every customer feel special. Old fashioned service, you just can't beat it eh?

And service is always with a smile in The Nest Cafe, as Carol, Nicky and Helen greet you in their usual happy way.

But maybe not quite dressed like this!!

Magpies sells so much more than bears and dolls, so when you are in Newton Abbot, do pay them a visit..and don't forget to treat yourself to coffee and a relax!

My purchase today, to brighten up my doorstep, was... a doormat!! ;-)

Oh what a fabulous blog! Thanks for dropping by mine, I can see we have a lot in common, just so you know I wanted to go to Malory Towers and be in Famous Five! Have you heard what they are doing to "update" Famous Five???

Please keep dropping by - I'm adding you to my favourites!

So we both bought cheery doormats on the same day! Yours is absolutely delightful!

What do they say about great minds...?

Now that's a very pretty doormat, I would have certainly been tempted with that too, and you cannot feel guilty for spending money on something so practical! Happy Easter. x

I've never visited this cute shop and cafe - guess it's been years since I actually wandered through Newton Abbot - but when I get home again I'll meet you there for coffee Sal!

Hope your Easter will be blessed and happy even though it sounds a bit chilly there!

I love shops with gorgeous things to look at and a great cafe. We have a lovely garden centre near here that has amazing interior things as well as an inspiring planty part and an excellent cafe. Those teddies are divine! I always feel sad leaving them behind when I go. XXX
